A police team was attacked at Pasahawakhola in Marnawa-2 at 2:30 a.m. from the gang comprising 10-12 members who were hiding behind bushes.
In reply, security personnel also opened fire, killing a member of the gang, said SP Mahendra Pokharel.
The deceased has not been identified yet. His body has been kept at District Hospital, Bara.
