KATHMANDU, May 2: Inspector General of Armed Police Force Nepal (APF) Raju Aryal retired on Friday after completing his four-year tenure.
A farewell ceremony was held at the APF headquarters in Halchowk in Kathmandu, where Aryal handed over the baton and organizational flag to newly appointed Inspector General Narayan Dutta Poudel. He also formally transferred all responsibilities of the organization on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony, Aryal said reaching the top position of a security organization entrusted with citizens’ safety and retiring successfully was a significant milestone in his life.

He noted that organizational reform is a continuous process and not something that begins and ends within a single chief’s tenure. He added that he had prioritized the security of the nation, the organization and the people while working for the welfare of subordinate personnel.
Newly appointed IGP Poudel expressed commitment to strengthening the organization’s established values, norms and traditions while making the APF more modern, capable, professional and accountable to the public.
He said policies of good governance, transparency and zero tolerance toward corruption would be advanced as long-term guiding principles for institutional development and consolidation.
Stressing the importance of personnel in making the organization more trustworthy to the state and the public, Poudel said high ethical conduct and strong leadership would ensure clear decision-making and credibility.
The ceremony was attended by former IGPs, Additional IGPs, officials of the APF Family Women’s Association, as well as senior and junior officers and personnel.
