KATHMANDU, Dec. 3: The Supreme Court has vacated the appeal in the case of Nepali Congress leader Khum Bahadur Khadka, who was imprisoned after being convicted of corruption.

The full bench comprising Chief Justice Khilraj Regmi and Justices duo Girish Chandra Lal and Bharat Bahadur Karki rejected the plea for an appeal in the case of leader Khadka, said Hemant Rawal, joint-spokesperson of the apex court

Advocate Balkrishna Neupane had filed an application at the SC, seeking appeal in the Khadka´s case reasoning the verdict on corruption charge against Khadka was against the precedent and more than the corruption he was involved in.

Four months back, the SC had slapped leader Khadka with one and half year´s imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 9.4 million and the confiscation of similar amount for amassing property with sheer misuse of authority.
