All sub-health posts to be upgraded to health posts by 2015

KATHMANDU, March 16: The Ministry of Health and Population has decided to upgrade three district hospitals to the zonal hospitals.



The district hospitals of Jumla, Dang and Baglung are being upgraded to the zonal level hospitals, said Secretary at Health Ministry Dr Pravin Mishra and added that the Council of Ministry has already approved the decision to this end.[break]



Similarly, as per the Ministry´s plan to upgrade sub-health posts to the health post, 1,500 sub-health posts are currently being upgraded, Secretary Mishra said.



The Ministry has also decided to set up as many as 90 Ayurved hospitals at different parts of the country, and initiative to this regard has been taken.



The formation of a new health policy to guarantee the health service by a specialist at every VDC´s health post was at the final phase.



Secretary Dr Mishra further said the government was planning to construct hospitals with the specialists´ service especially considering the critical diseases as cancer, diabetes, kidney and heart problems.
