Diplal Hajara, the then personal assistant of Paswan, a Madhesi People’s Rights Forum (Democratic) leader, registered the complaint at the Bara district administration office. [break]
In her complaint, Hajara has stated that the former assistant minister collected, through him, Rs 2,500,000 from various people promising them jobs in Nepal Police and Drinking Water Corporation and later refused to return their money.
He has also asked Chief District Officer (CDO) Krishna Hari Puskar to order a probe into the scam and help the victims get their money back.
CDO Puskar confirmed about his receiving the complaint but declined to further comment, maintaining that nothing could be said before a probe is carried out into the allegation.
Paswan, however, denied any wrongdoing and said Hajara could have lodged the complaint being instigated by someone else to disgrace her name.
