KATHMANDU, Feb 11: The government has finally ended 'lot system' in petroleum products distribution to vehicles effective from Friday, thanks to improving supply of petroleum products from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC). This means any lot vehicles will get fuel from any petrol pump on daily basis from Friday onwards.

Officials of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), however, said that two-wheelers and four-wheelers will be fueled with 5 liter and 15 liter respectively at once for the time being. "Analyzing the supply situation of next one week, we also will end all sorts of fuel rationings systems," Mukunda Ghimire, spokesperson of NOC told Republica.Following the crippling shortage of fuel in domestic market due to undeclared economic blockade imposed by India, NOC, effective from September last week, had introduced fuel rationing process for distributing available stock of petroleum products in the market.
