18 injured as police, protesters clash in Bardiya

BARDIYA, Aug 23: Some 15 protesters demanding Tharuhat province sustained injuries during a clash with police personnel on Sunday afternoon.

The clash was ensued as police used force after protesters hurled stones at the former during a corner assembly near District Administration Office.

The law enforcement agency lobbed over a dozen shells of teargas and baton charged demonstrators.

Three police also got injured during the clash.

The injured are undergoing treatment at District Hospital, said SP Govinda Ram Pariyar.
