Voting nearly completed in Himalayan polling centers of Gorkha

Voting has nearly concluded in centers with small numbers of voters as people stopped arriving at the polling stations.

KATHMANDU, March 5: Voting has almost been completed at many polling centers in the Himalayan region of Gorkha in the House of Representatives elections.



In remote centers including those in Chumnubri Rural Municipality, most of the votes were cast as there were 100 or fewer registered voters in several polling stations.

At the Film Primary School polling center, 138 votes were cast out of 198 voters, after which no more voters arrived.


Similarly, at Sidung Primary School, 86 votes were cast out of 145 voters; at Kwak Primary School, 40 votes were cast out of 100 voters; and at Chhak Basic School, 55 votes were cast out of 111 voters.


At the Larkebazar Health Post polling center in Namrung, only 24 votes were cast out of 76 registered voters. In some centers, voting remained low as voters who had migrated to warmer areas to escape the cold did not return.
