Umesh KC conferred with FIDE arbiter

KATHMANDU, Oct 17: The 80th FIDE conference underway in Greece has conferred the title of ´FIDE Arbiter´ on chess player Umesh KC of Nepal, the Nepal Chess Association said in a press release on Friday.[break]



Nepal Chess Association said at the conference discussions were held on promoting chess in Nepal through the participation of youths and women and through professional development of skills of chess players already into the game.



President of Nepal Chess Association Rajesh Hari Joshi and member Ram Kumar Thapa are participating in the conference from Nepal.



The chess associations of 149 countries affiliated to the World Chess Federation are attending the conference that will conclude today. The conference started on September 14.
