KATHMANDU, June 22: Nepal’s stock market closed largely unchanged on Monday, with the benchmark NEPSE index settling at 2,700.65 points, down by 1.46 points.
The market saw fluctuations throughout the trading session, but ended slightly lower as gains in some sectors were offset by losses in others. Finance, microfinance, and trading groups were among the sectors that dragged the market down, while mutual funds recorded the steepest drop of 0.68 percent.
Out of total listed companies, share prices of 143 companies declined, while 14 remained unchanged.

Nepal Bank’s bond recorded the sharpest fall, dropping by 3.87 percent.
On the gainers’ side, 116 companies saw their share prices rise. Two hydropower companies—Taksar Pikhuwa Khola Hydropower and Yambaling Hydropower—hit positive circuit limits.
Total turnover also declined compared to the previous session. The market recorded a turnover of Rs 4.44 billion, down from Rs 4.53 billion on Friday.
Among individual companies, Sopan Pharmaceuticals recorded the highest turnover of Rs 374.4 million, followed by NRNA Infrastructure with Rs 305.1 million.
