Student unions call Dipayal shutdown

DOTI, Feb 21: Three student organizations have called on indefinite shutdown in Dipayal from Tuesday demanding scrapping of the reports submitted by State Restructuring Commission (SRC).



Nepal Students´ Union of Nepali Congress, All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNISU) of CPN-UML and ANNISU-Sixth also vandalized government offices and non-governmental organizations in Silgadhi, headquarters of Doti district. [break]



Local political parties and student organizations have been staging protests after the SRC submitted its reports to the government.



Normal life was affected due to the shutdown in both Silgadhi and Dipayal. The cadres of student organizations had staged demonstrations before calling the shutdown.



Local political parties and various organizations have said that divided Far-Western Region would not be acceptable to them in federal system.



Meanwhile, Sudurpaschim Jagaran Manch on Tuesday launched awareness campaign for integrated Far-Western Region from Baitadi district.
