SPORTS BRIEFS: Bhandari elected prez

KATHMANDU, April 28: The first general assembly of Nepal Tug-of-war Association on Thursday unanimously elected Rajan Singh Bhandari as its president.



Fifty-one-year-old Bhandari is the CEO of Citizens Bank. [break]The association that was registered at the National Sports Council about four years ago is coming up with a corporate level tug-of-war soon. Meanwhile, Suraj Pant has been elected the treasurer of the association.



Cricketers off to Malaysia


KATHMANDU: Cricketers of the national team Binod Kumar Das and Paresh Prasad Lohani left for Malaysia on Thursday to attend the ACC Level 2 Coaching Course beginning from Friday.



A press release issued by the Cricket Association of Nepal stated that the six-day course will be held from April 29 to May 4.
