KATHMANDU, April 4: The Shram Shakti Party has announced that it will field a female candidate for the post of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Party chairman and lawmaker Harka Raj Rai (Sampang) shared the news on social media while congratulating Dol Prasad Aryal of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), who was elected Speaker unopposed.
“We’ve congratulated the Speaker for being elected unopposed. Now it’s time for the Deputy Speaker election! We are nominating a female candidate—let’s see whether the new members choose the new or the old. Will there be 7 votes or 189?” he asked.
