RJM to launch protest against Karki recommendation as CIAA chief

KATHMANDU, May 5: The Rastriya Janmorcha Sunday evening condemned the Constitutional Council’s decision earlier in the day to recommend former chief secretary Lok Man Singh Karki as chief of Commission of Investigation for Abuse of Authority (CIAA).



The Chitra Bahadur KC-led party described the decision is an attempt to put the country on a regressive course. According to Ghanashyam Neupane, general secretary of the party’s students wing, the party will soon come up with a nationwide protest against the move.



Karki is a controversial figure, alleged to have misused public office in trying to suppress the people´s movement of 2006.
