District Police Office, Bajhang, said the two raped the girl at midnight after beating up her mother while the mother and daughter were sleeping. The mother was seriously injured after the rapists beat her up and looted her jewelries.
Police Inspector Milan Basnet said the police succeeded in arresting the rapists from the scene after a guest, who had resided in the victim´s house, informed them. The girl was taken to the district hospital for health check-up while the mother is undergoing treatment at the local Deulekh Primary Health Center.
Civil Code has managed eight to twelve years jail sentence if one is convicted of rape of a girl below 14 years old.
Similarly, police have arrested two people from Budhanagar, Morang, on the charge of being involved in a rape case of a five-year-old girl. Police nabbed Shyam Sundar Mandal, 20, and Bhim Mahato, 21, of Budhanagar. Police inspector Lal Dhwaj Subedi said case has been registered against them in the court.
