KATHMANDU, Jan 14: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has decided to increase load-shedding by one hour with effect from Sunday.

There will be 12 hours of power cut every day from Sunday onward.

According to the Load Dispatch Center (LDC) of the NEA, the load-shedding time has been increased as water levels in most of the rivers have gone down. [break]

According to Chiranjivi Sharma, chief of the LDC, power demand in the country stands at 940 MW, which is almost double the supply. The NEA has projected a maximum of 14 hours of daily power-cut for this year.
