Poudel terms dissident parties as anti-election

SURKHET, May 1: Vice President of Nepali Congress Ram Chandra Poudel has accused some political forces of opposing the chief justice-led government as they were afraid of election.



The political forces including CPN-Maoist led by Mohan Baidya had been demanding election under an independent person, he said in a press meet organized by the Press Union Surkhet today, adding to protest the hand over of election government leadership to chief of judiciary is to fear the people´s mandate.[break]



"We agreed on incumbent CJ, as there was tendency of disagreeing government of any one party, and this government will hold free and fair elections by third week of November", he said.



Poudel also said the previous Constituent Assembly could not give constitution, as there was dispute between parties on federalism and form of governance.



He said his party will not form any working unity with any parties. However, he did not rule out the possibility of co-work with democratic forces but not working unity.
