PM to quit after consensus govt

KATHMANDU, June 4: A meeting between Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal and UCPN (Maoist) at Baluwatar on Saturday, was held to discuss the five-point deal and its implementation along with national consensus, peace process and statute promulgation.



The meeting also decided to discuss and forge consensus with other parties and move forward towards formation of national consensus. [break]



We’ve decided to form a national consensus government and move ahead, said UML politburo member Surendra Pandey who attended the meeting.



PM’s press advisor Surya Thapa said, “The current government will remain in power until national consensus comes in sight.”



Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Vice-Chairmen Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and Mohan Baidya and General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa along with other leaders were present at the meeting.



Meanwhile, Maoist Standing-Committee meeting schedule for Saturday afternoon was put off due to the busy schedule of the leaders.
