According to Rastriya Janashakti Party Chairman Surya Bahadur Thapa, the prime minister said he would hold serious discussions on the issue at the meeting of coalition partners on Monday. “The prime minister has said that he would take up the issue with NC leadership,” Thapa said.
Addressing a function in Butawal on Saturday, Koirala accused the UML of exercising monopoly in political appointments. She stressed on the need for change of guard in Singha Durbar as the cabinet meeting under Madhav Nepal “functioned like a politburo meeting of the CPN-UML.”
Leaders attending the meeting said the meeting also held discussions on various issues, including National Adaptation Program of Action (NAPA) on Climate Change as provisioned by United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC). “The meeting has asked the ministry concerned to take a decision on the issue,” Thapa said. Nepal, however, has already missed the NAPA submission deadline.
