Speaking at a press meet in Nuwakot on Friday, Pokharel said, “CA polls must be held on the scheduled date of November 19 to bring the derailed political process back on track.” Stating that his party was against ethnic-based federalism, he said, “We will stand for multi-linguistic and multi-ethnic federalism.” He also accused the UCPN (Maoist) and CPN-Maoist of trying to thwart the polls. Meanwhile, speaking at a press meet in Tulsipur, Dang on Friday, UML Vice-chairman Bam Dev Gautam said that the demands placed by the CPN-Maoist are unreasonable. “Non-participation of the Baidya-led CPN-Maoist in the CA polls won´t make any difference,” said Gautam.
