Nepse suffers nominal loss, transactions up

KATHMANDU, June 14: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index declined by a marginal 1.53 points to close at 364.67 points with majority of the trading groups witnessing loss on Thursday.



Total transaction amount increased to Rs 35.69 million with 212,383 units of shares being traded through 1452 transaction contributed by trading of promoter shares of Citizen Bank International. The bank´s 91,925 units of promoter shares with face value of Rs 100 were traded through 12 transactions.[break]



On Wednesday, a total of 182,883 units of shares worth Rs 32.8 million changed hands through 1,418 transactions.



During Thursday´s transaction, sub-indices of Banking, development Bank, Finance and Insurance companies suffered losses.



Sub-indices of Banking and Development Bank groups edged down by 2.64 points and 1.28 points to settle at 330.49 points and 248.16 points respectively.



Finance and insurance groups also lost marginally by 1.26 points and 3.39 points to close at 265.74 points and 483.17 points respectively.



However, Hotel, Hydropower and Others groups gained marginally by 0.56 points, 4.85 points and 1.18 points to reach 488.35 points, 585.7 points and 546.35 points respectively. Total market capitalization has touched Rs 344.41 billion.
