Decline in sub-indices of major groups in the secondary market dragged down the benchmark index. Banking, a key player in the secondary market, fell by 0.52 points to end at 490.62 points. Development Bank and Hydropower groups also witnessed drops in their sub-indices by 5.93 points and 7.34 points to settle at 558.26 points and 802.41 points respectively. [break]
Similarly, Finance and Others groups also fell by 1.33 points and 11.75 points to close at 506.12 points and 552.22 points respectively. However, Insurance group gained marginally by 0.35 points to close at 575.43 points.
During Sunday´s trading, a total 78,201 units of shares and 61 scrips worth Rs 36.32 million changed hands through 1,289 transactions.
