KATHMANDU, July 4: Nepali Congress Vice-President Ram Chandra Poudel said it is possible to holding talks on demands raised by the Mohan Baidya-led CPN-Maoist if the Maoist party agrees not to postpone the Constituent Assembly elections slated for November 19, later this year. [break]

Speaking at a program organized in the capital on Thursday, Poudel said that there is no alternative to holding CA elections. “There have been several attempts to derail democracy by so-called revolutionary forces,” Poudel said. He added that nobody should create an illusion betraying the people. “The CPN-Maoist and UCPN (Maoist) are betraying the people creating an illusion among all of us,” he alleged.
