He shared that he is extremely disturbed due to the on-going turmoil in eastern parts of Nepal and didn't feel contented on this special day also."People in Kathmandu don't feel happy as violent situation is going on in Tarai. We want religious harmony in Nepal," Rana said. "First of all we are Nepalis. Caste and religion are secondary things for us."
Rana, 40, even added that muslim community in Kathmandu are worried as the conflict is sparkling in Tarai and people there are not getting proper food to eat. He even said that he wishes to see Nepal being united once again
People from Muslim community, who flocked at various mosques to offer their prayers on the occasion of Bakra Eid, said that violent measures should not be adopted to secure right of anyone. They even said that religious harmony should be maintained irrespective of political changes in the country.
Sajid Shah, 30, said that everything is done in a peaceful way in Islamic culture that stresses on maintaining harmony with all other communities.
"On the occasion of Eid, I pray that peace prevails in the country and urge political leaders to give a way out to the on-going political turmoil," he opined.
Shah, who runs a factory in Kathmandu, added that he wishes to see a peaceful Nepal adding, "There is no culture of violence in Islam and thereof peace and religious harmony is the only wish on this special day."
Hundreds of Muslim follower flocked at the mosques in Kathmandu to celebrate the holy festival. Muslim communities in Nepalgunj also celebrated Bakra Eid with a message of bringing peace in the country. Urging government to address the demands of the agitating groups, the Muslim followers at the Jama Masjid, Nepalgunj, prayed for peace and harmony in the country.
Muslims make pilgrimage 'Haj' to Mecca if possible during this holy festival and those who can't make there, rejoice the festival in their homelands.
