KATHMANDU, May 6: Leaders of the Madhesi People´s Rights Forum-Republican (MPRF-R) have accused Acting Chairman Rajkishor Yadav of not discussing his continuation in the new cabinet to be led by Baburam Bhattarai.

Accusing Yadav of disrespecting the party´s central committee, party General Secretary Atmaram Sah said, “He (Yadav) has called a central committee meeting for Sunday. He could have waited for a day to discuss the issue. This has shown his disrespect to the party central committee.” [break]

Sah said Yadav´s move has shown that there is no internal democracy in the party.

Similarly, deputy parliamentary party leader of the party Nandan Dutta accused the acting chairman of undermining the party´s central committee and parliamentary party.

“He (Yadav) neither held discussion in the central committee nor in the parliamentary party regarding his continuation in the cabinet,” Dutta told Republica. He said they would raise the issue in the central committee meeting.

Meanwhile, a political committee meeting of Madhesi People´s Rights Forum-Democratic (MPRF-D) held at the party headquarters in Sanepa on Saturday decided to send party Chairman Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar in the cabinet yet again. “We unanimously decided to give continuity to Gachchhadar´s representation in the new cabinet as the leadership needs to play a crucial role in constitution writing,” said MPRF-D Chief Whip Ramjanam Chaudhari.

Tarai Madhes Democratic Party-Nepal (TMDP-N) also decided to retain party Chairman Mahendra Yadav in the new cabinet. “A meeting of party office bearers on Friday decided to retain Yadav in the cabinet concluding that he should lead the party till the new constitution is promulgated,” General Secretary of TMDP-N Govinda Chaudhari told Republica.

General Secretary of Sadbhawana Party Manish Suman told Republica that the party´s ongoing general convention decided to retain Chairman Rajendra Mahato in the new cabinet.

Former Minister for Physical Planning and Works Hridayash Tripathi will represent TMDP in the national consensus government. According to leaders, however, the party did not hold any formal discussion on retaining Tripathi in the cabinet.

“We have not held any formal discussion on the issue, but Tripathi will be retained in the new cabinet,” said a leader on condition of anonymity.
