Established working journalists, journalism teachers, academicians, trainers and recognized media persons have written extensive articles on separate issues related to the various aspects of media in the book.[break]
While Professor P Kharel has given an overview of broader developments of Nepali media, Kamal Dixit, Rishikesh Dahal, Prakash Acharya and Tilak Pathak have separately written comprehensive articles on print journalism. Similarly, Badri Paudyal, Jagat Nepal, Tanka Upreti have penned articles on the electronic media. Under the chapter of specialized journalism, Chandra Shekhar Karki has written on photography and photojournalism; Hasta Gurung and Mohan Mainali have jointly authored on investigative journalism; Laxman Dutta Pant on development journalism and Anil Thapa on conflict and journalism.
Similarly, there are four other chapters on media and society, academic practice, law and code of conduct, and advertisement and public relations.
“Nepali market is short of quality materials in the media sector. The 24 different articles included in this book will certainly address the needs,” said Professor Kharel. He further opined that the book can be resourceful for university students, teachers and researchers.
Published by Jagadamba Publications, ‘Media Reader’ has been edited by Deepak Aryal, Bhuwan KC and Tilak Pathak. The book is written in Nepali.
