Panta, who originally hailed from Tanahu, Ganshikuwa VDC 4, was fatally wounded while setting fire to the bamboo tunnel through which Shamsher Bahadur Lamsal, the biker, was to drive to set a world record.
Panta died on Thursday while undergoing treatment at Bir hospital, Kathmandu. Another victim of the incident, Bharat Singh, is receiving treatment at Life Care Hospital, Kathmandu.
The poor economic condition has created problem in the treatment, said Hari Krishna Thapa, brother of Bharat who is with him for his treatment. He appealed the government to help him for the treatment stating that the incident took place due to the negligence of administration.
The demonstrators showed their anger against Bashudev Dahal, Chief District Officer (CDO) claiming he tries to distance himself from the matter by saying the stunt was organized without the permission of the administration.
After the demonstrators encircled his vehicle chanting slogan against him, CDO Dahal assured them of necessary steps in declaring him martyr and providing Rs. 1 million within one month.
“The administration will provide necessary support to the family members of the deceased and injured victims of the incident.” said CDO Dahal.
