Locals protest demolition drive

KATHMANDU, Feb 5: Locals of the Narayan Gopal Chowk and Budanilkantha on Sunday organized a motorcycle rally and corner meetings to protest the demolition drive started by the government in a bid to widen the valley roads.



The rally which started from Budanilkantha turned into a corner meeting at Balaju. They are set to organize a corner meeting at Kalanki as well.[break]



The protestors are planning to picket the District Administration Office later in the day.



More than 200 bikes participated in the rally. In the corner meeting the protestors criticized the government´s move and blamed it for spreading anarchy.
