Landgren calls on PM

KATHMANDU, Jan 24: Chief of the United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN ) Karin Landgren met with Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal at the latter´s office at Singha Durbar on Sunday and formally informed Nepal about the UN Security Council´s decision to extend the UNMIN mandate by four months.



Last week, UN Security Council decided to extend the UNMIN term until May 15.



According to prime minister´s press advisor Bishnu Rijal, Landgren also discussed about a 120-day plan of action proposed by the prime minister on integration and rehabilitation of Maoist combatants.







"Landgren expressed hope that the integration and rehabilitation of the Maoist combatants would complete within the stipulated time," said Rijal. The prime minister told Landgren that the special committee on army integration has been meeting three to four times a week to expedite its tasks.
