Khanal violated party rule: Basnet

BIRATNAGAR, Aug 18: CPN-UML´s youth wing Chief Mahesh Basnet has accused party chairman Jhalanath Khanal of trying to thwart the meeting of his organization.

He also accused the UML chairman of violating the party´s organizational system while issuing the circular.



“The circular should have been issued through the proper body and proper procedures but the chairman himself directed to stop the meeting,” Basnet, chairman of UML wing Youth Federation of Nepal said at a press conference here on Sunday.[break]



The UML youth wing on Saturday formed Female Youth Force (FYF) with a view to mobilizing its women members in the coming election in a more organized way. However, a large section of the youth organization boycotted the event showing their disagreement with the decision.



Khanal had last week issued a circular to youth wing leaders as two rival factions within the organization ran parallel activities. But Basnet convened the scheduled gatherings in Biratnagar and Dharan defying the party chairman´s circular.



Basnet also challenged Khanal to run the CPN-UML party in as transparent way as his youth organization- YFN.

Basnet went on to accuse UML leaders of being corrupt in the recent years. He said that it was because of the UML leaders´ corrupt image that caused huge loss for the party in the past CA elections.
