Approval of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report and Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) could not be forwarded when the license of the project was not renewed for the last two and half years, said Gyanendra Lal Pradhan, Chairman of the Hydro Solution, Kathmandu.
He expressed concern that the investors, who keep interest for the construction, might go back due to the uncertainty.He claimed that process of EIA and PPA for the construction of the project could not be forwarded due to the lingering on process from the EDD.
It has been reported that the Nepali skill and knowledge would be used for the construction of the project that is to be constructed under the technical support of Hydro Solution, Kathmandu.
Investors from India, USA and Canada, among other countries have shown interest to invest an estimated cost of Rs. 25 billion for the construction of the project.
The project had acquired the land more than 300 ropanis and distributed Rs. 30 million as compensation.
The project was targeted to conclude by 2014 constructing a dam at Ghansa of Mustang district and it is planned to construct powerhouse in Narchyang VDC of Myagdi district but is still uncertain.
