The committee called for the Janakpur shut down for indefinite period after five people died on April 30 in a bomb explosion while staging sit-in demanding the Mithila State.[break]
Ranju Jha, Suresh Upadhayay, Jhagadu Mandal, Bimal Sharan das and Dipendra Das died in the incident. It is said that condition of seriously injured Wajir Shekh, who is undergoing treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, is also critical.
