A meeting of the HLPC held at New Baneswor on Saturday decided to make all efforts to bring the disgruntled parties on board the election process.
Talking to media after the meeting, CPN-UML leader, Raghuji Panta said the HLPC decided to be flexible to address the demands raised by Baidya-led Maoist. “HLPC is flexible to address the concerns of Baidya-led Maoist,” said Panta. [break]
“If Regmi-led government is dissolved, the country will have to face further political instability,” he said while adding that Regmi-led government must be allowed to hold the election scheduled for November 19.
Vice Chairman of the UCPN (Maoist) Narayan Kaji Shrestha, said the government is holding talks with agitating parties to reach consensus for election. “We are ready to reconstitute the HLPC if that brings agitating parties on board the election process,” said Shrestha, adding, “we are even ready to hold an all-party meeting.”
Shrestha also said that government was ready to make some changes in both the 11-point political agreement and 25-point ordinance approved by president to resolve constitutional difficulties.
Vice President of Nepali Congress Ram Chandra Paudel claimed that Baidya will eventually join the election process. " CA election will be held in the stipulated date at any cost," he said.
