BIRATNAGAR, Aug 17: Preliminary hearings on those accused of attacking jailbird Abhishek Giri inside Morang District Court premises will start Thursday.

Of the 17 people facing attempted murder charge, hearings will be conducted on Mukesh Budathoki, Devananda Yadav and Manoj Rai.

The others, including chief accused Parshuram Basnet, are at large. Judge Radha Krishna Upreti will arrive at the court on Thursday.

The hearing had become uncertain after former Morang Judge Megh Raj Bhattarai was transferred.

Though hearings were earlier planned for Wednesday, Judge Upreti wanted to be present in person, and hence the postponement of the hearing for Thursday.
