KATHMANDU, April 12: The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has fixed the foreign exchange rates for today, with the Nepali rupee slightly weakening against major currencies, including the US dollar, euro, and pound sterling.
The buying rate of the US dollar has been set at Rs 148.07, while the selling rate stands at Rs 148.67. Similarly, the euro is being traded at Rs 173.44 for buying and Rs 174.14 for selling. The British pound sterling has been fixed at Rs 199.01 (buying) and Rs 199.82 (selling).
Among other major currencies, the Swiss franc is priced at Rs 187.61 for buying and Rs 188.37 for selling.
Forex update: USD selling at Rs 145.69
The Australian dollar has reached Rs 104.69 (buying) and Rs 105.11 (selling), while the Canadian dollar stands at Rs 107.03 (buying) and Rs 107.46 (selling). Likewise, the Singapore dollar is valued at Rs 116.22 for buying and Rs 116.69 for selling.
According to NRB data, most currencies have seen marginal increases compared to the previous day. The US dollar rose from Rs 147.96 to Rs 148.07 (buying), while the euro increased from Rs 172.82 to Rs 173.44. The pound sterling also climbed from Rs 198.45 to Rs 199.01.
Other currencies, such as the Chinese yuan, Saudi riyals, Qatari riyals, and UAE dirhams, also recorded slight gains. However, the Japanese yen and South Korean won witnessed minor declines.
Among high-value currencies, the Kuwaiti dinar remains the strongest, with a buying rate of Rs 483.10 and a selling rate of Rs 485.06. The Bahraini dinar and Omani riyal are also trading at elevated levels, with buying rates of Rs 392.65 and Rs 384.60, respectively.
NRB updates foreign exchange rates on a daily basis, and these rates are subject to change depending on international market fluctuations.
