KATHMANDU, March 26: Two international flights scheduled to land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu were diverted to Lucknow on Friday afternoon due to unexpected flaw in the runway.

According to a source, the airport authorities diverted two Jet Airways flights coming from New Delhi to Lucknow. The airport management had stopped flights from 2 p.m. till 3:50 p.m. without any prior information.

Ram Prasad Neupane, director general of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), informed that the flights had to be halted all of a sudden to repair a damaged section of the runway. However, he said that he had no idea about the diversion of Jet Airways flights.
