Five hunters reported missing in Bardiya National Park

The missing individuals have been identified as Resham Samseli, 25; Rabilal Damai, 41; Ram Bahadur Gharti, 34; Sunil Samseli, 30—all from Barahatal Rural Municipality–1, Jyamire—and Durga Bahadur Sijali, 45, originally from Lekbeshi Municipality–8, Gangate, who currently resides in Bardiya.

SURKHET, March 16: Five individuals from Surkhet have gone missing after entering Bardiya National Park for hunting.



The missing individuals have been identified as Resham Samseli, 25; Rabilal Damai, 41; Ram Bahadur Gharti, 34; Sunil Samseli, 30—all from Barahatal Rural Municipality–1, Jyamire—and Durga Bahadur Sijali, 45, originally from Lekbeshi Municipality–8, Gangate, who currently resides in Bardiya.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohan Jung Budhathapa of the District Police Office Surkhet, authorities received information about the disappearance around 5 pm on Sunday after the group failed to return.


A four-member police team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Topendra Singh Thakuri has been deployed to search for the missing individuals. Police in Surkhet have also informed the District Police Office Bardiya to assist in the search operation.
