KATHMANDU, June 19: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index recorded a modest gain on Friday, rising by 1.63 points to close at 2,702.11.
The market was supported by gains in sub-indices including finance, hydropower, investment, life insurance, manufacturing and processing, microfinance, and trading sectors.
COVID-19 national tally reaches 453 with nine new cases today
Out of the traded companies, share prices of 116 companies increased during the session. Apollo Hydropower hit a positive circuit, while Sopan Pharmaceuticals surged by 14 percent.
Meanwhile, 140 companies saw a decline in their share prices. Bungal Hydropower recorded the biggest drop, falling by 12.45 percent.
Total market turnover stood at Rs 4.53 billion during the trading day.
