Accordingly, the DoI has made a provision for the journalists to file complaints, if any, at the media centres to be set up at Biratnagar, Hetauda, Pokhara, Nepalgunj and Dhangadi and forward it to the office of the press registrar. [break]This facility would be made available by amending the provision on filing complaints in the office of the press registrar.
The DoI has urged meanwhile the victim journalists to clearly mention their complete name, address, name of the media they are engaged in, and its address.
Similarly, the victim journalists are asked to write their post, duration of their services, salary scale and allowances.
Considering the growing cases of violence against working women journalists in media houses, the DoI has also set up a focal point to oversee such cases.
Moreover, the DoI would monitor the media houses to see whether they are women friendly, have separate toilet for men and women, installation of CCTV, complaint box, transportation facilities to women journalists working till late hour among others.
The media houses would also be required to strictly enforce the journalists´ code of conduct set by Press Council Nepal and Federation of Nepali Journalists.
