Citizen, who were playing their second match on the second day of the tournament, defeated Sanima Bikash Bank by 24 runs while Spice beat Nepal SBI Bank by 5 wickets.
In group A match, Citizen showed their solid batting performance as Sanima put them on batting after winning the toss. As Saroj Pokhrel and Amit Khanal scored unbeaten 30 and 26 runs respectively, Citizen piled up 71 runs in limited 5 overs without losing any wicket.
Chasing the huge target Sanima remains 24 runs short after losing one wicket. Padam Mahata compiled unbeaten 16 runs for Sanima.
Batting first SBI scored 30 runs losing their 5 wickets in limited 5 overs. SBI batsman Monish Shrestha compiled 17 runs in the low scoring innings whereas Ashok Khadka and Ashish Subedi took one wicket each for Spice.
In reply, Spice crossed the target in 4.1 overs in the cost of one wicket. Santosh Shrestha scored unbeaten 16 runs for Spice while Durga Bhattarai claimed one wicket for SBI.
In the other matches of the day Kantipur Group and Nabil Bank emerged victorious. Kantipur defeated defending Champion Surya Nepal by 6 wickets. Likewise, Nabil Bank defeated Global Bank by 6 wickets.
Matches between Bank of Asia and APCA Nepal as well as Indian Embassy and NMB Bank were deferred because of the rain. Both the matches were deferred after the completion of first innings. According to the host Soaltee Crowne Plaza, the matches will be played on Thursday.
