KATHMANDU, June 23: Singer Bidhan Shrestha is set to perform at the Paleti musical series this weekend, marking his return to the stage after nine years.
The month-end weekend programme will feature Shrestha, who last performed on the same platform nearly a decade ago. He is currently rehearsing with the Paleti ensemble for the upcoming show.
Known for his folk and patriotic songs, Shrestha comes from a musical family and developed his career under the guidance of his father, veteran singer and lyricist Bijay Shrestha.

Shrestha said returning to Paleti after nine years feels special, calling the stage a “musical temple” where many senior artists have performed. He added that he hopes the programme will add further meaning to his nearly three-decade-long musical journey.
Paleti coordinator Abhash said Shrestha now sounds more mature and refined, praising the originality of his songs and expressing happiness at his return.
The programme will be held on June 26 and 27 (Friday and Saturday) at Nepalaya’s ‘R’ Sala. Tickets are available online at www.paleti.com.np, with student concession tickets also offered.
