Inaugurating the general convention of the Nepal Eggs Producers´ Association in Chitwan on Friday evening, the Chief Secretary said that more employment opportunities should be generated in the country through commercialization of agriculture.
The Chief Secretary was of the opinion that the youths could be prevented from flying abroad in search of job if development of agriculture was done by adopting modern technology at home.
He also urged the business community even to give more priority for the development of tourism as it was the second largest industry in terms of size and profitability as well.
"We are ready to extend support for policy reforms. The government is even ready to provide grant assistance if need be," Poudyal urged the business leaders to invest in agriculture and tourism sectors.
He added that offering job opportunities to those carrying guns in the past was more important for establishing lasting peace in the country.
The national convention held last evening elected Shivaram KC unanimously in the post of central chairman of the Association.
