Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal handed over the award, including a token of appreciation and certificate, to the importer amid a ceremony for becoming the second largest importer of Nepali handknotted woolen carpet in the last fiscal year amid a function. The largest importer, OCI of Germany, was awarded during the Domotex Fair in Hannover last month. [break]
"I would like to congratulate Krigerhandal GMDH for its consistent performance and long business tie up with Nepal," said PM Nepal. "We hope that it as well as other importers would continue their support and love for the Nepali hand-knotted woolen carpet."
In a bid to facilitate business travelers, particularly ones who have been helping to promote Nepal´s overseas trade, PM Nepal said that the government would take special arrangement to ease their movement to Nepal.
Under this special arrangement, he stated that the government could issue visa to them from the Nepali embassy in Germany. So far, the embassy does not issue visa at all and German travelers are required to collect visa on arrival which is tedious and time consuming.
PM Nepal also noted that the hand-knotted woolen carpet was high on the government´s priority list and would be promoted to create more jobs and ensure rise in export income. The function was hosted by the government´s Exports Promotion Committee and Nepal Carpet Exporters Association.
LG, Viking Range in strategic alliance
KATHMANDU, Feb 23: Viking Range Corporation and LG Electronics Inc have entered into a strategic alliance to jointly work on areas of product cross-sourcing and joint procurement opportunities, and shared R&D and service resources as well as expanded distribution.
“Viking plans to increase its international distribution, particularly in the rapidly expanding Asia/Pacific markets through its alliance with LG and it is anticipated that its distributors will begin offering LG appliances beginning in the second quarter of 2010,” LG-Chaudhary Group said in a press statement issued Tuesday.
Viking Range Corporation is a major appliance manufacturer and culinary lifestyle company that originated ultra-premium commercial-type appliances for the indoor and outdoor kitchen.
