Animal rights group against Gadhimai sacrifices

POKHARA, Nov 21: An animal rights group submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal through the chief district officer of Kaski on Friday, demanding that the mass slaughter of animals in the Gadhimai fair be stopped.



Krishna Mani Baral, the founder of Animal Rights Nepal, handed over the memo to the CDO in the presence of various rights workers, journalists, tourists, tourism workers and students.



The CDO assured that the memo would be promptly forwarded to the prime minister.
