Absconding killer cop held

LAHAN, Jan 31: A police constable who was absconding after shooting dead three individuals was arrested in Saptari on Saturday night.



Constable Bindu Yadav was posted at District Police Office, Siraha, when he committed the crime.



Yadav, a resident of Pakari-2, Saptari, shot and killed the three individuals amid a meeting of village elders that was convened to settle his dispute with a local family. Six people were injured in the nine-month old shootout. Sakaldev Mandal, 35, his younger brother Ramesh Mandal, 25, and Ranjit Yadav were killed in the shootout.



Police had put Yadav in their most wanted list.
