The body of Shambhu Gupta of Sonmatimajhaura of Siraha was found near Bhramangorchari at 2 p.m. Monday. He was murdered with sharp weapons.
Relatives have blamed information leak by police for the murder.
The family members had negotiated a ransom of Rs 800,000 for securing his release, after days of bargaining from the initial ransom demand of Rs 3 million. But a police team that reached Dhangadhi on Thursday night with the money engaged in a gun battle with the abductors, which, relatives say, led to his murder.
