He is seven-year-old Debit Bhandari, a third grader at Pancha Buddha Academy, Naya bazaar. The incident happened when he was returning home from the school, said District Police Office, Ilam.
The tractor with the registration number Ko. 1 Ta. 4246, heading to Fikkal from Nayabazaar hit the boy and ran over him.
The driver of the tractor Santosh Rai is absconding and the tractor owner Dipesh Shresth himself came to the police office to report the incident, said DSP Bhim Bahadur Dahal.
