Dikesh Malhotra, president of IMS, launched the flagship phone from the South Korean electronics giant amid a function organized here on Sunday. [break]
According to company, Galaxy S4 attracts the customers with highly crafted design encompassing a larger screen size and longer battery power, minimized bezel and a slim shape. “The phone understands value of relationships, enabling connections with friends and family, makes life easier and hassle free and even take cares of one´s well being with the application present in the phone,” the company said in the phone.
The phone has the world´s first full HD super AMOLED 5-inch display with 1080 pixel resolution. The screen is protected by Corning´s new Gorilla Glass 3. It runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system and is powered by 1.9 GHz quad core processor along with Exynos five Octa 5410 chipset.
The Galaxy S4 has 2GB RAM and internal memory of 16 GB which can be expanded to 64 GB through micro SD card.
“Though the phone as internal memory of 16 GB, it shows memory of only 8.82 GB as the system software occupies about 6.85 GB due to high resolution display and powerful features,” Bishal Acharya CEO of IMS, said.
The phone boasts a 13 mega pixel rear camera with auto focus and LED flash and a 2 mega pixel front-facing secondary camera. “The camera has features like dual shot, simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, image stabilization and high dynamic range (HDR) photography,” the company said in a statement.
The phone is available in Black Mist and White Frost colors and costs Rs 71,900 for 16GB version. It comes preloaded with Ncell data voucher of 1 GB per month for 3 months and insurance of one year from Everest Insurance. Customers with credit cards of Nabil Bank and Laxmi Bank can even buy the phone on equated monthly installment.
IMS has also launched an exchange offer under which genuine Samsung Galaxy SII and Galaxy SIII users can upgrade to Galaxy S4 at Samsung Premium Brand Shop, Sherpa Mall.
Meanwhile, Deepak Malhotra, chairman of IMS, launched DM Foundation -- a philanthropic humanitarian services initiative -- on the occasion of Galaxy S4 launching. “The foundation will initially receive Rs 1,000 from the sales of every S4 and the fund thus collected will be used to provide help and assistance to the differently able, aged and destitute as well as victims of natural disasters,” said Malhotra.
Techno Store Opens Samsung Smartphone Café
Techno Store, the distributor of Apple devices and accessories since two years, on Monday opened Samsung Smartphone Café at City Centre, Kamalpokhari.
Deepak Malhotra, chairman of International Marketing Services (IMS) and Rajendra Aryal, managing director of City Centre, jointly inaugurated the new showroom.
Grihendra Ghimire, managing director of Techno Store, said customers can exchange old iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S with a new Galaxy S4. The store said that customers will get Rs 18,000 to Rs 25,000 for iPhone 4 and Rs 30,000 to Rs 35,000 for 4S depending on the number of months used.
