According to the District Police Office, the locals thrashed Sanjaya Majhi to death after he returned home after absconding for a few days. Majhi has been accused of raping a 65-year-old woman. She is undergoing treatment at Koshi Zonal Hospital.
Meanwhile, police on Tuesday arrested one of the three persons who have been accused of raping a 14-year-old in Haraicha-2. Roshan Shrestha, who was arrested from his own home, Devi Kami and Santosh Shrestha, from Banigama-6, had raped the girl, the police claimed.
