CHITWAN, June 21: Security has been tightened for the first general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), which begins today in Chitwan.
With the participation of the Prime Minister, ministers, lawmakers and other high-profile guests, Nepal Police Inspector General (IGP) Dan Bahadur Karki himself has been deployed on-site to supervise security arrangements.

Authorities have restricted vehicular movement from the convention venue to Hakim Chowk, Chaubiskothi, and Malpot Chowk as part of the security plan.
A coordinated security strategy involving three security agencies has been put in place for the event. More than 1,000 Nepal Police personnel have been deployed, with additional officers brought in from outside districts.
The closed-door session of the convention will be held at the Chitwan Chamber of Industries hall.
